Noong isang araw, nanood kami ng tv ng pinsan ko, at syempre ang topic ay love.may nagtanong dun kung halimbawa ay 6 years na sila ng boyfriend nya, pero dumating sila sa point na parang wala na, gusto na daw nya mkipaghiwalay pero nanghihinayang sya sa anim na taon ng pagsasama.at may isang guest sa show na nagbigay ng opinyon nya, and it does make sense  at sa tingin ko ganun ang nangyari sa past relationships ko, we just got tired, naging routine na ang lahat, and break-up is not the right thing to do, but be experimental, be adventurous, try new things,go out of town, do hiking, fishing or whatever, just enjoy the moment and talk.I think it doesn’t imply to love alone, or a relationship for that matter.

Kasi pwede rin namang napapagod na tayo sa araw araw nating ginagawa-halimbawa sa akin, kung pang gabi ako, 10pm – 7 am, pagkalabas ko ng umaga, pagdating ko sa bahay, magpalit ako ng damit, kakain ng almusal, maglinis ng katawan, mag check ng email, friendster at kung ano pang account, matutulog, magigising ng mga 3 pm, magluluto ng dinner, mag lunch kung nagugutom, manood sandali ng tv, pahinga, at 8 pm kailang na maghanda para sa trabaho, then the same rouutine would happen 5 times a week for a month. Nagbabago lang kung may importanteng lakad sa umaga, kaya kahit kulang sa tulog, ok lang or kapag day-off, that’s the time I see to it that I have time for myself, either I go to the mall, kahit la bibilhin, maiba lang ang environment, makipagkita sa mga kaibigan etc.Darartin at darating ang oras na napapagod na tayo sa paulit ulit na gawain, kailangn nating magpahinga, mkapag isa at mag-isip.

I dont have work tomorrow til Monday.

May sense ba tong blog na to?ano kaya magandang title? Day op ni Andoy? he he

Whenever you got tired. Relax. Unwind. Try something new. You don’t have to go somewhere else, You can simply lie down the whole day, listen to tracks that you like, read a book. Eat and enjoy.Just do something that is not part of you daily routine.

Its almost 9 pm, and its not busy, I’ll close the other terminal in a while.

Till my next entry, and prepare for that one coz it would be 100% tagalog. he he

Smiling BKK

Its another day at work, or should I say another  night. My shift always starts at 10pm and ends at 6 in the morning.Im not feeling well tonight, I have a back pain. I feel cold.I feel dizzy.

I just came from a two-day off from work, and I accomplished nothing.I just want to chill out, sleep the whole day and browse the internet. Before I sleep last saturday, at 3 am, I already send sms to my mom and aunts and friends as well to greet them Happy mother’s Day.Its already 7 am in the Philippines by that time.Yesterday, my cousin told me that I don’t have to cook dinner because we’re dining out to celebrate the day.

By past 6pm both my cousin and I are already prepared, we’re just waiting for my uncle and aunt to pick us up.They have arrived past 7pm, and we headed to a Thai restaurant, my aunt told us that it has rave reviews from time out dubai- the ultimate guide for restaurants, hotels, clubs and bars here in Dubai. But we have one problem- we don’t know where exactly it is located. All we know is that it is in Al Wasl Road, which is just about 20 mins away from our place, after calling the restaurant to ask for direction, some u-turns, right turn and another stop to confirm the directions,we hit the road again and we finally saw the restaurant. It is just behind a Petrol pump.I forgot to tell you, the name of the restaurant is Smiling BKK, until now I’m not aware what BKK means, I have to go back and do some research.Anyway, the restaurant is not as commercial and as visible as others, I think this what makes it magical and exciting. As we approach the place, I saw the logo of the restaurant, Mona Lisa with a mustache, now that’s confusing- A thai restaurant, with such an outrageous name, and a picture of monalisa with a mustache as its logo. This must be a really interesting one.Outside the restaurant are four tables for four, with a lighted candle on glass mosaic candle holders as its centerpiece. As we enter the restaurant, a small counter is on the left side of the door, with the choices of beverages behind, and the way to the kitchen in front of us, on the right side is a rack of magazines and newspapers, and just a few steps on the right is the main dining area. The first thing i have noticed is the coziness of the place, dimmed lights, lighted candles, a victorian style wallpaper, framed vintage posters on the left wall and pictures attached to a string covers the opposite wall.As far as I can remember, there are about 10 tables of different sizes, mixed chairs and intimate set-up. The table settings are made of different colored plates, and pages of magazine as placemats. There were also different kinds of chandeliers hanging at  the end of the room, 2 big mirrors on both sides of the wall that gives an illusion of a much bigger place. The waitress then seated us in a booth good for four, the bench is covered with black leather, that seems like a crocodile skin. The table just feels right, it is small, but we’re comfortable, not stiff. As I browse through the menu, it is another interesting object, the menu consits of the usual stuff, appetizers, soup, main course, drinks, but the unusual thing is that they have names such as “papa don’t preach”, “babe in the city”, “masters of the universe” Karate Kid” and a lot more.beside these crazy english nicknames are the Thai Name of the food, and below that is a specific explanation of the ingredients and how it was cooked, so we already have an idea of how it would taste like, and Im somehow familiar with Thai cuisine, as I have studied it in college and ate in other Thai restaurants as well. First, we ordered a platter of appetizer,in the menu it says it is good for 2, but there’s more than enough for four. It has spring rolls, fish cakes, fish crackers, and there’s something that looks like a dumpling, which is actually, a wanton wrapper tied like a bag, with a small amount of seafood inside, it is crisp, small and very delicate, accompanied with three different kinds of sauce, one is a mixture of cucumber, green mango and garlic with a sweet-spicy sauce, shrimp paste, and the third one is a sweet and sour sauce for the spring rolls.

I also ordered a black iced tea,it was nice and refreshing. For the main course we have ordered a deep fried lapu lapu, accompanied by greeen mango salad, 2 kinds of rice-one is Rice with shrimp paste, shrimps, chunks of chicken and scrambled egg on top, there’s tomato, green mango strips and cucumber on the side, as well as chopped green chili if you want more kick,we often refer to this rice as Bagoong rice, the other one looks the same minus the shrimp paste. We also ordered noodles, it is a white noodles with a sauce made with garlic, peanuts and i don’t know the rest. All I know is that it has filled our small table with good food and different flavors, and the restaurant’s claim is correct-they are offering authentic Thai Cuisine.

In the restaurant with us are some Thais, British and I think Lebanese customers. There are only 3 servers, but it is just enough for the space of the restaurant and for the customer turn-over, and everytime you need a server, just use the musical instrument that they will leave on your table to call their attention.

In general, the food and drinks were great, reasonably priced and has a good serving portions.

The place is nice and quiet, interesting, cozy, and warm.

I’m definitely coming back to Smiling BKK.

Road Trip

From the day we were born, our journey has began. We were here for a purpose, to add another meaning to the world we are living.

“Life is what we make out of it” True but untrue, There is an inner strenght and an outer energy that motivates us and pushes us to make our decisions,  and actions towards our main purpose. We opt to ignore these explanations and just live life to fullest and I believe that is what really matters.

When we started going to school, our life is not just about playing around, eating, and sleeping, we have new responsibilities we have to do, more philosophies we have to learn, and have our world much bigger than it use to be. In school we have learned lessons in life and lessons in love as well, both from the books and from our daily encounters. We were taught how to handle life’s challenges, pressure and in some instances twist of fate.We learned how to be patient, responsible, resourceful, we started to use our intuition, sense of judgement and initiative. At this point we already started to realize things, weigh decisions and explore new horizons. We became travellers of our own destiny, became experimental and adventurous. We started to commit mistakes, learn from it and move on. We fell in and out of love, and I think heartaches are the toughest thing to bear.We made acquaintances, friends come and go, but we learn to value others more than we use to do.

As we accelerate towards new ventures, new road blocks are on our way, there are new signs that we have to acknowldedge and as the time flies, we also see to it that we make a quick stop sometimes, refresh ourselves, add fuel to our spirit, and prepare for the next leg of our journey. As we travel, we make sure that we use our rear mirror, and take a look on what we have done, how much we have accomplised, what challenges we have surpassed, and battles we have won over.We take a glance of our side mirrors, knowing that there is always someone travelling with us, as we drive our journey, there will always be things that will suddenly show up and we have to watch out for it, we don;t want to be hit and constraint us from doing our goals, achieving our dreams and making our targets on time.

We also come to a point that we pass through an intersection, we don’t know which way we would take, which direction we should follow. Sometimes we tend to use shortcuts but in the long run, we realize that most of the shortcuts we took are not worth it. Sometimes it is much longer than the usual road, the road is rough and dirty and we have missed some of the lessons that we have to learn, some of the problems and trials that we have to solve to make us better persons. We even take the road less travelled on times that we want to be alone, enjoy the scenes and take things one at a time.We are also brave enough to take the wrong way, make a wrong turn and drive as fast as we can, but during these time we are putting ourselves at risk, making more mistakes and causing more problems. We might come to a dead end, but don’t panic, we always have the chance to make a u-turn, there are still lots of roads that we could choose from, but at this moment, while doing a u-turn, ask yourself why did you arrive on a dead end?Is it time for you to stop as well, No. you just have to think more clearly and more logical. You might be misled by the signs, or you are not paying much attention to the road that you are in, it is okay to call your family or your friends, ask for directions, ask for advice.

Whatever road we take, whatever speed we have, no matter what tools we have used,we could have missed some exits, enter a wrong way, beat a red a light, loose a grip of the wheel, got a flat tyre or even run out of gasoline. The only thing that matters is that we are the driver of our own destinies, we always have the last say,and it would always be not the lenght of the journey, but the quality of it. The experiences, the lessons and adventures that come with it.Because we will only have one finish line, one destination,- with our Creator, and He will only ask us one question. ” How was your journey?”

Love and its cloak of mystery

•May 7, 2008 • Leave a Comment

This subject maybe one of the most published, talked about and defined, it is because its meaning is not universal,it is not specific, it is complex, and it is not true for everyone. Love is  a feeling, it is an emotion.

Anyway, that’s what the title is all about, what’s the mystery that surrounds it, love’s power to subjugate, to rule and to make things not what it seems.

LOVE and its cloak of mystery…..

LOVE is L-life, being alive is synonymous to being in love. If we are robots, I can say that we are programmed to love, it all started from our birth, we have already been surrounded with love’s energy, and since then we have been in love with life. Its such a cliche but as we say” LOVE what makes the world go round”

O-Objective, it is about having intentions, having a purpose either for yourself, for your partner, your family, your society or simply for your life.Being in love is always about having a meaning in everything you do.

V- Vulnerable, it is such a delicate feeling. Its complexity makes it dainty and susceptible to being hurt, being irrational, senseless and crazy.

E- Eternity,in a sense that when you are in love, you always wish that it would be for a lifetime, you act and decide as if it would never end.You always make sure that the feeling that you have that instance would be the same intensity as the days go on.And as I have said, love is life, so it would last for a lifetime, and maybe even beyond it.

Is there really such a thing as love at first sight? One true love? or Destiny? For me, there is. We all have our own destined true love, there is really someone created for us,someday we will have the chance to bumped into them, but what if we already did, and we didn;t made any move, don’t worry because what meant to happen will happen, You’ll see each other again and when the right time comes, you’ll simply know that it is her.True love is worth the wait.

Love can make you crazy. You will do everything for love, but still decisions has to be made, considerations should be done and everything has to be weighed- right vs. wrong, family vs. love.I cannot say that it is wrong to love that girl, because you cannot teach your heart who you should love, in relation to the first scenario, what if this girl is his destiny. That they are the one meant for each other, but at this point, we have to be rational,we have to be practical. First- she is not yet legally separated, so the couple have to settle this first, if you want to help the girl, do it very discreetly coz this might cause more trouble.I know it would be a long process, but “a long time” is not in the vocabulary of someone in love.Second- she has a child, are you ready to accept the child and treat him as your own?Third- Let your family know about it, you haven’t done anything wrong, its only the situation that made it complicated and besides they are your family, whatever you do they will support you.

I am not a love doctor or anything, so I better stop here, but before that, I have to emphasize on my title first. Aside from these two stories that both show how mysterious love is, that it can happen anytime, that it would really move mountains, that its mystery is still unravelled.

Love is indeed mysterious, it can be misleading, traumatic, painful and deceiving but despite of all these negative feelings it is also what makes love exciting, fruitful, surprising and challenging.

Love can only  be defined by the people who is in love, it is meaningless until you put meaning into it, it is nothing without a purpose, without a sacrifice, without patience.

We search for answers to prove that we have made the right decisions, but the truth is we cannot search for something that is not there. Things happen because they are meant to happen. We love the person even though they don’t love us, we forgive them even  if they hurt us and we smile despite every painful crash in our hearts, beacuse at the end of the day the lessons we get are the answers to our decisons.

till the next entry. Ciao!
